Fatal Vehicle Accident

On Sunday evening, August 14th at 5;46pm, the Santa Monica Fire Department, California Highway Patrol, Santa Monica Police Department, and McCormick Ambulance Service responded to a fatal vehicle collision on Interstate 10 in the eastbound lanes near the Lincoln Blvd exit. The cause of the accident was due to speed which that vehicle rolled over several times striking other vehicles along the way, with a total of 9 vehicles involved. There were a total of 3 people injured and there was 1 fatality. One patient was in critical condition and 2 other people were transported with minor injuries. The driver of the speeding vehicle died from impact. Alcohol and drugs were said not to be a factor in the crash. 2 vehicles were also unrecognizable in the crash which appeared to be a range rover and another unknown vehicle.
